Comic Strip

This next piece is the third page of a six page comic strip I drew called "The Copier" , again, written by Thomas Muzzell. The illustrations were recently completed in early September and haven't been published yet.

I thought it'll be interesting to show the page before and after in colour.

Werewolf

The next images are quite recent, finished mid way through 2012. They are comissioned by a Thomas Muzzell, a Writer/illustrator based in Canada. The work is called Judge me not and reads somewhat like a soliloquy. This is quite a contrast in visual style to the previous big heads, but is produce using the same process.

It all starts out quite obscure

...with the werewolf becoming more and more visible...

...until he's howling.
Hopefully in the near future I can post the images with the lettering in place.

Well, actually the lettering for Judge Me Not is not very clear and the first two images they up loaded were unfinished ones I sent to give an idea of progress.

Mad Science

These characters came about around 2006 while working on Mercury Meltdown.  Although in the end there were no characters in the game they kind of stuck with me and I wanted to develop them more. They started as line drawings with flat colours, then in 2010 I decided to paint them digitally and submit them to Caption who had the theme Mad Science for that year.  However, as their publication was in black and white the images didn't come out very well.

The above represented Biology and below shows him with the others Geology, Gases, Metallurgy and Physics

My professional ambition, like probably most people, is to make a living doing what I enjoy. In my case it's illustrating. I enjoy working in all sorts of mediums but for this blog I thought I'd try to display only ink drawings and ones that I've coloured in digitally or both inked and coloured.

I thought I'd start with a robot that first began as a practice animation called Grumpy Robot.

I think Marvel's Ironman had quite an influence... Not really surprising as I used to read the comic.
